What is a Certificate of Authenticity

What is a Certificate of Authenticity?

What is a Certificate of Authenticity I hear you cry and why do I need one?

  • The certificate of authenticity is an official document that confirms the art is authentically provided by the artist. It accompanies any art purchase and is usually signed by the artist.

  • The certificate proves provenance and ownership, should you choose to sell your art. Art collectors will usually require any art they purchase to have one.

  • The certificates can add value and assurance to art buyers and collectors.

  • Original documentation should be safely filed or kept with the artwork.
